How to get free books on your Kindle
I have to admit that I’m pretty new as using my Kindle.
I just discovered something called Project Guttenberg that has a catalog of something like a million free books.
But their webpage is a little convoluted. I finally waded through all the text to find directions on how to get the books on my Kindle. So here you go:
- This step you just have to do once. Open your Kindle web browser by doing the following:
Press Home
Press Menu
Select Experimental
Select Launch Browser
Press Menu
Select Enter URL - Enter this URL and press Enter:
http://bit.ly/gutmagic(You probably already know that to enter colons and slashes you need to press Sym.)
- Once you are at that URL, click on the link to download the Magic Catalog. This will put it on your home page.
- Then search for a title by doing this:
Press Home
Press Menu
Select Search
Enter a title or author.
Press EnterYou’ll see for a result The Magic Catalog. Select it.
- Now you’ll see results that looks something like this:
Location 579 etc.
Select that result.
- Now you’ll be looking at a page of the catalog that lists book titles, hopefully with the one you just searched for. Go to the title and press Enter. This will download the book.
